First of all music plays a huge role in my creativity and well being as a whole. I find myself connecting with music on a deeper level, I connected every picture I took with a specific song and feeling, I picked songs that resonated with not only me but the viewers on the surface level but also more specifically in depth. It connects in many ways with the photo that is being picked. The hardest part about this process is being able to take one look at the photo and attempt to decide how that visually and emotionally connects with something else (a song in this case). Understanding that it's subjective but still making an effort to achieve a more universal outlook to the specific photo. And being able to simplistically show my thought process through my photo just by listening to the specific song. That is the goal of all of the pictures I take with this theme in mind. Sharing my photos and sharing how they were melodically inspiring to me is my mission.
The subjectivity of beauty and perspective among people. Everyone sees the world differently but what makes some things beautiful to some people, but not others. I began by re imagining the concept of beauty, what were things I found beautiful, and what were the common grounds between them?
As i've travelled more and more i've asked myself all kinds of things relating to this topic. Venturing outside of your comfort zone is the only way to truly find an answer. This is my journey to answer that question and this page is my idea of what i've discovered throughout the last year.
Finding beauty in conventional popular things and consequently finding beauty in the uncommonly less popular unconventional things, what truly is visually appealing to people and why does it stand out in a crowd? Sometimes I ask myself what even makes the popular things popular? Are they truly worth the praise? Or do we as humans just care too much about what other people say and think?
